Diving In: Discussing Discrimination

  • Abdul-Wakil M. Kamal Foundation 2035 Shenandoah Avenue St. Louis, MO, 63104 United States (map)

We need to be talking about discrimination, but some of us are better prepared than others. While some people seem to talk about it with ease, others struggle to find the words because they are afraid of “messing up.” In this workshop, participants will be provided with practical knowledge related to discussing forms of discrimination, especially racism.

Topics include the following:

  • Who to have the conversation with

  • Agreements for holding discussions

  • Phrases and questions to use in order to encourage and challenge

  • How to navigate the “tough stuff”

  • The perfect apology when you’ve made a mistake

Cost is $40 per person. This includes all training, workbook and materials, lunch, and access to additional resources through the In Purpose website.
